Forever 21 Times Square launches through partnership with ‘To Be A Star’ at ‘Walk On Water’ fashion show in NYC

New York City, NY June 11, 2010– The breathtaking views of the Hudson River provided the backdrop for this Summer’s most unique fashion show – ‘Forever 21 Walk On Water’, June 7^th, 2010, on Pier 66 in Midtown Manhattan.

Twelve models rocked the runway in four energized vignettes. From ‘Fitness’ to ‘Beach with the Girls’ to ‘Party at the Club’ and, finally, ‘Red Carpet Ready’, the models brought two brands to life and thrilled the capacity audience.

Pop Star Katie Faith sang the title track from ‘To Be A Star’ – YESTERDAY – to open the show, and video clips introducing the story of ‘To Be A Star’ were interspersed throughout.

Hosts Kimmie Smith of Kitten Lounge, Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot, and Celebrity Stylist Lauren Rae Levy, who recently starred on Real Housewives of New York and The Tyra Show, and whose clients include Christie Brinkley, Janice Dickinson, Lydia Hearst, Paris Hilton and Sarah Jessica Parker, emceed the evening. Guests received VIP gift bags, with product from Forever21, Purple Lab, SMASHBOX Cosmetics, Mrs. Fields Cookies, New York Sports Club, Hollywood Prescription, Completely Bare and Salon Rock, and enjoyed catering from Energy Kitchen.

‘To Be A Star’chronicles the journey of 6 girls who spend 3 months working with iconic mentors from the fashion and entertainment industries in NYC – Designer Nicole Miller, Supermodel Coco Mitchell, Vogue Photographer Brad Starks, Scouting Director for Elite Karen Lee, Actor Mfundo Morrison, Editor of J-14 Magazine Rachel Chang and Emmy-winning singer/songwriter Beth Burrows among them.

Hey Everyone, it's Sami! I am SO psyched about the site being up, I think it looks phenominal! What do you guys think of it? We just recently received the rest of the pictures from my photo shoot. Heidi (photographer) and Alex (make-up artist) made me feel comfortable. They helped a lot because I had some first time jitters. My shoot was in Queens, so it took some time to arrive. Once we got there it was all about business! It was SO, "This is what has to be done? Let's do it!" Within the first half hour of the shoot, we were working like I was a natural. Once we finished, I was so upset because I was so motivated. The day after I felt happy and excited to talk to all my friends. My friends were so supportive about everything xoxo!!! My best friend and I had hung out the day before to try and make me feel more confident. When SamanthaBrandi.com was up and running my friends and family went to look at it and I received SO many compliments... I hope YOU like it too!

On March 4th, 2010 I had the opportunity to attend a special advance screening of Tim Burton's, "Alice in Wonderland" in Times Square. We saw the movie in 3D and it was amazing! I encourage all of you guys to go see it. After the movie, we went to one of my favorite stores in the city. That would be the Hello Kitty store by Sanrio. The store has everything a Hello Kitty lover could ask for!
